the australian 20 cent coin takes centre stage!
hey my dad used to work in a bank and one day he brought alot of 20 cent coins home but they were different they were much heavier and i asked my dad how come there so heavy and he told me there was a fault in the coin making machine and accidently put more silver in the coin than usual he told me to keep these coins for a few years then to sell them has anyone heard of this or got any of these coins how much are they worth?
The coin making machine is just a great big press. The only fault that can occur is if it stops or breaks:it can't change the metal content. The people who produced the metal would have had to accidently put some silver in-hardly likely. The small amount of silver would hardly be worth anything anyway!

Hi. My mum has a double-headed Australian 20 cent coin with 1980 on one side and 1981 on the other. You can't see any discrepancies on the mill marks of the coin. Yes.. yes I know you're thinking it'd just be a magician's coin, a joke coin. However, it has been weighed by a coin agent and has been proved as not being a fake. To prove it was not a fake, the coin had to be between 11.3 and 11.5 grams for a 20 cent coin (it weighed 11.4 grams). What do you reckon it'd be worth?
Yes, money was offered. Stop being so sinister...
Roxbury's Auction House
It has been proven as legitimate... Not everything is impossible.
You need to find out if the Australian Treasury misprinted any coins to those specifications (yeat, etc.) and how many. Then take it to a collector's show and let people give you offers. They'll probably be able to tell if it's a fake and if not tell you where to verify it. The worth of anything is what people are willing to pay for it.
i need to find another name for an australian 2 cent coin. for example the australian 1 and 2 dollar coins are known as gold coins and the australian 5 10 20 and 50 cent coins are known as silver coins. i really need help.
