Australian 2 Cent Coin

Mistakenly Printed 2 Cent Australian Coin?

I have a 2 Cent Australian Coin that was wrongfully printed in silver instead of bronze, I have checked with the Australian mint and it is genuine, after it was verified the mint informed us that the coin was made but a disgruntled employee, he made a few of the coins but the mint stopped most of them from entering circulation, they where melted down but they missed 15 of them, only nine have ever been found and mine is the ninth coin, what they couldn't tell me is what it may be worth, if anything. If anyone knows or knows where I could find out I would really appricate it.
Thanks

Maybe if you search for rare coin sellers and ask for some quotes, that might help. Good luck.

If it's uncirculated you might get a few dollars for it. Otherwise it's worth 2ยข.

what is the value of an australian 1 and 2 cent coin in good condition?

both from 1981

Value depends greatly upon condition. To a collector "good condition" means G-4 (good) which is a very worn coin. I am assuming you mean that your coins are in better than average condition. I would say that you probably will not be able to find a buyer willing to pay the full $3, but you may get many times the face value.

HOW MUCH WOULD 6 x 1982 Australian 2 cent coins be worth?

Hello my name is Nicole i want to go on eBay and sell 6 x 1982 Australian 2 cent coins. I am wondering how much they would be worth.

I also have another question:

How much would a collection of circulated 2 cent coins from 1989-1966 be worth ( but their are about 13 different coins missing)

PLEASE, PLEASE HELP ME FIND THE PRICE OF THOSE 2 QUESTIONS THNX. LuV NiKkI XoX
OBTW THE FIRST QUESTION ABOUT THE COINS:
THE FIRST SET OF COINS ARE ALSO CIRCULATED THNX AND SOZ 4 NOT ADDING THAT IN THE FIRST PLACE :P LOL

Still 2 cents each, sorry to disappoint you.

Even though they were taken out of circulation, they are still legal tender & have not increased in value.

Are the Australian 1c cent & 2 cent coins still legal tender?

If so, where can I use them or convert them into modern currency
On Wikipedia it says they are, I just want confirmation.

I didn't think so, but the Mint's web site claims they are: http://www.ramint.gov.au/designs/ram-des igns/1c.cfm
So unless something has changed since they withdrew them from circulation, I suppose you could ask a bank to deal with them for you.
According to the Currency Act 1997 you can only spend up to 20c of them at a time. However shops are still within their right to refuse.

Interesting question, guess I learnt something knew. I always thought they weren't legal tender any more.

Though for the seller, I have to say, I have used them a number of times and was very impressed. They have given me almost extraordinary discounts on the "make an offer" option. Never have we not been able to come to terms on a price. Shipping is top notch. Only once was there a delay and they ended up overnighting it to me. From the emails I have had with them, they seem like really nice people. If you haven't bought from them before, even if you don't buy this item, I say give them a chance. And for sure use the "make an offer' option. I think you will be pleasantly suprised. Gold Advances for Third Day, Wholesale Inflation Falls - Coin News

New York gold futures closed slightly higher on Wednesday, marking a third straight day of gains. Silver and platinum followed.

The Federal Reserve’s assurance on Tuesday to keep interest rates unchanged was still a cited factor in metals movement, as was a bigger-than-expected decline in wholesale inflation . The Labor Department on Wednesday said US producer prices fell 0.6 percent in February — the largest drop since July.

Both items helped to ignite stocks, with the Dow, Nasdaq and S&P all closing at fresh 2010 highs.

New York precious metal figures follow:

"We’re in a bit of a transition where gold isn’t marching always in lockstep with the dollar," Brien Lundin, editor of the Gold Newsletter, said on MarketWatch . "We’re moving past the crisis of the past few years and investors in the east are looking at large deficits and debased currencies. As a result, the relative value of stuff, metals, and primarily gold, must increase."
