How much is a 1988 Australian $2 coin worth now?

I found one of these coins on our ranch in Oregon, is it worth anything? It has Queen Elizabeth II on one side and an aboriginal leader on the other side.


It's not valuable. In Australia it would be worth it's face value of AU$2. You won't be able to change it into US$, but you might get a few cents for it on ebay.

1988 But do not know the month.The $2 coin was minted to replace the $2 note.Coins have a longer life span than paper money.

how can you put a hole in and Australian 2$ coin?

i have a class called systems and metal and its about bending and melting stuff now i have tried using a soldiering iRON i have tried pop ribeting it on the maximum level the coin gets hut but does not melt what object/tool can burn a hole through 2$ COIN


I guess it was not meant to have a hole in it. And why would you want to make a hole in a coin?

Mistakenly Printed 2 Cent Australian Coin?

I have a 2 Cent Australian Coin that was wrongfully printed in silver instead of bronze, I have checked with the Australian mint and it is genuine, after it was verified the mint informed us that the coin was made but a disgruntled employee, he made a few of the coins but the mint stopped most of them from entering circulation, they where melted down but they missed 15 of them, only nine have ever been found and mine is the ninth coin, what they couldn't tell me is what it may be worth, if anything. If anyone knows or knows where I could find out I would really appricate it.

why is the australian 2 dollar coin half the size of the 1 dollar coin ?



For similar reasons that a US dime is smaller than the nickel, it just is.

    Taking good photos is most likely very important to all of us but am just wondering what type of camera do you use to photo coins? Also, do you use any type of special equipment? I have done quite a bit of reading on the subject and also on this website but am never able to get the light just right so would appreciate any hints...... I note that the bottoms of those Lincoln pics are focused lass-sharply than the tops. That indicates the camera and coin aren't completely parallel - it's a place where you could possibly improve.
