Australian Crown Coin

Answers

how much is my 1976 australian half new penny coin?

on one side it has the picture of the queen and the letters DG REG FD
now on the other side it has a crown.

If what the user above said is true about Aussieland not haveing pennies in 1976, then the coin is most probably from Canada. If that is so, I highly doubt that your coin is worth much as the minting process has become very advanced and for the past few decades they make coins by the billions per year.

i just wanted to find out the value of two coins i have?

1 coin is a 1937 australian crown
2is a 1896 2and a halfshilling

You may want to check with a coin collector. Some older coins are limited and may be more valuable to a collector. People who deal with coins on a daily basis tend to be more in tune to what older coins are valued at. Sure their face value may be the same at a local bank, but to a collector may be a whole lot more.

Where's the best place to sell rare coins and militaria etc (collectable items)?

I've got some rare military uniform buttons and some old australian coins I'd like to sell and make some money on... WW2 brass uniform buttons, 1947 australian florin, '28 half crown etc. Where can I sell them for what they're really worth?

e-bay or an antique store, i'd save the coins until they get way older to sell for more money than they're worth now. See if someone you know would like to buy it. Here are some sources to help you>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Gold | Bank Specialist

Gold is a highly sought-after precious metal, having been used as money, as a store of value, standard for monetary exchange, in coinage and in jewelry since the beginning of recorded history. The metal occurs as nuggets or grains in rocks, underground “veins” and in alluvial deposits. It is one of the coinage metals. Gold is dense, soft, shiny and the most malleable and ductile substance known.

Pure gold is too soft for ordinary use and is typically hardened by alloying with copper or other base metals. The gold content of gold alloys is measured in carats (k), pure gold being designated as 24k.

Gold Bar

The most traditional way of investing in gold is by buying bullion gold bars. In some countries, like Argentina, Austria, Liechtenstein and Switzerland, these can easily be bought or sold “over the counter” of the major banks. Alternatively, there are bullion dealers which provide the same service.
