how much is my 1976 australian half new penny coin?

on one side it has the picture of the queen and the letters DG REG FD
now on the other side it has a crown.

If what the user above said is true about Aussieland not haveing pennies in 1976, then the coin is most probably from Canada. If that is so, I highly doubt that your coin is worth much as the minting process has become very advanced and for the past few decades they make coins by the billions per year.

How much would an 1891 half penny (australian) be worth?

I've got a coin that's quite filthy and am wondering if it is worth cleaning.

The first official Australian coins were not minted until 1911, so you might have a half penny token or a British 1891 Half Penny. The 1891 British Half Penny needs to be in a high grade (VF-30) in order for it to be worth more than $10US. The first link below is intended for coins found underground, so I would only recommend using their advice if you cannot see the details on the coin. I hope that helps.

i have australian coins in range from half a penny to three cents, can you tell me the value of these coins?

I don't know anything about Australian coins, but I do know that the value of any coin depends upon the year minted, if there are any oddities, possibly the mint location, and its condition. Whoever does answer your question will need to know these things.

1907 Half Penny: Worth?

Hi,

I just wanted to enquire about some coins that i have.

My grandmother gardens alot and she regualry digs up coins as the property is quiet old. When ever she finds some she gives them to me.

I went through my collection for the first time in years and found some that where quiet old. I was wondering how much they where worth:

A 1907 Half Penny: It has a man sitting down holding a trident and clutching a shield, he is wearing a roman headgear (you know the one that looks like he has a broom on his helmet) and a toga.

On the otherside is a bald man with a beard and the writing:

EDWARDVS VII DEI GRA:BRITT: OMN: REX FID: DEF:IND:IMP

Around the edging.

Would you be able to tell me the worth and origin of this coin?

Also i have an Australian Commonwealth 1936 Half Penny.

A New Penny with Elizabeth II on the back and D-GREG.F.D.1973

An Australia 1951 Penny

And a Australia 1950 Three Pence.

Thanks.

Aimee

holy crap. send them to me and ill sell them for you

ive got a coin from 1930's?

ive got this australian coin, its half a penny, 1932 and i just wanted to know if anyone would know if its worth anything?

Actually it could be worth a lot. I had a quarter from 1928 that was worth a few thousand because of where it was minted. You may want to take it to an antique dealer or a coin shop and they can tell you about it and what it's worth. They also may buy it from you. A lot of people collect coins. Currency is one of the most collected items. You can sell it on ebay, craigslist... you have a lot of options. Just try to find out what it's worth before you decide what to do with it- you don't want to sell it short!

As a coin dealer that looks at coins all day (and all night sometimes!), it takes something pretty special to catch my eye. These coins certainly did that - first when I saw them in an auction in Hong Kong in 2002, and more recently in Sydney for a second time. I regard this pair of coins as equal to the most beautiful coins I've ever handled.

Another numismatist with a keen interest in Australian pre-decimal proofs is Paul Holland - his most recent research into this field was published in the NAA Journal in 2005 (Volume 16). Holland has this to say about the 1951 PL copper proofs - Holland also speculates that the 1951-PL proofs came to be viewed as the best possible model for what Australian bronze proofs should look like. When you see the images here you can understand why!

Coin Advice - Coin Community Forum

Hello everyone. I'm just looking for advice. I have been dabbling here and there the past several years with collecting coins. I have a small collection, but I'm looking to step my collecting up a notch. Before now, I had no "method behind my madness" when I collected coins. I just grabbed anything that appealed to me. Now, I want to try focusing a little more and narrow my collecting down. I want to try to collect a nice set, I'm leaning towards a date set, but I'm not sure which coin (type) to focus on. I'm thinking maybe the two cent coin, or maybe the liberty nickel (minus the 1913 of course). I would appreciate any advise on other types. Thanks. Well, there are a lot of factors...
