Mistakenly Printed 2 Cent Australian Coin?
Cumbersome coinage

I have a 2 Cent Australian Coin that was wrongfully printed in silver instead of bronze, I have checked with the Australian mint and it is genuine, after it was verified the mint informed us that the coin was made but a disgruntled employee, he made a few of the coins but the mint stopped most of them from entering circulation, they where melted down but they missed 15 of them, only nine have ever been found and mine is the ninth coin, what they couldn't tell me is what it may be worth, if anything. If anyone knows or knows where I could find out I would really appricate it.
Thanks

Maybe if you search for rare coin sellers and ask for some quotes, that might help. Good luck.

Australian 5 cent coin vending machine question?
100 years of the Australian Taxation Office

hey

my friend says that if you glue two australian 5 cent coins together
and you put them in a vending machine and press the coin return button, a $2 coin comes out because theyre the same size.
when i do this the coin goes straight through the machine and into the return chute. you dont even press the refund button. i weighed the two five cents that are stuck together and they weigh half of a regular two dollar coin's weight. is this the problem? has this trick ever worked for you?

Different weight and different thickness, those machines are designed to detect fakes. When $2 coins first came out that trick worked but not anymore.

How much is a 1966 Australian one-cent coin worth?
Cutest coin ever

1 Australian cent - with an exchange value of slightly less than 1 cent US - if spent in Australia.

Perhaps a few cents if included in a mixed lot of world coins, sold on eBay. Since this coin features an opossum, it might also be of interest to collectors of animal coins, particularly in a mixed lot of such coins.

There are a couple of varieties of this one-cent coin, however, that might have slightly higher values: one has a blunted whisker in the opossum's whisker on the far right, and another has a blunted second whisker from the right. These have catalog values in the $0.15-$0.30 range in average circulated condition, if you can find a buyer who may be interested in them.

Value of a 12 sided Australian 1979 fifty cent coin?

We happened to find this while dining out and wondering if its worth anything.. I did a little research, its been tough narrowing it down.. Please dont tell me its worth only .50 cents... I saw a coin like it going for $50.00 on a coin collectors site.

From 1969 to date all Australian 50 cent pieces are 12 sided. With a mintage of 24,886,000 it is far from scarce. The book value is .40 in grade very fine, .50 in grade extra fine and $2 in uncirculated. there is also a proof version valued at $7.75. In reality if the coin is circulated it can be found here in the USA for around .25 cents in a coin dealers world coin box. I have no idea what you saw for $50 but it sure was not this coin.

Celebrating Australia Day in 2010 the Royal Australian Mint in collaboration with the Australia Day Council has released a commemorative cupro-nickel 50c coin into circulation. With a minimum of 5 million coins planned to enter circulation, expect to find one of these in your change at the shops any day now.

It wasn't until as recently as 1994 that the whole of Australia has consistently celebrated Australia Day on the 26th of January as a public holiday. It was on the 26th January 1788 that The First Fleet from England landed at Sydney Cove and raised the Union Jack founding the Colony of New South Wales. Whilst not always called Australia Day, the 26th of January has historically been used for celebrations and commemorations. It has been known as Foundation Day, Anniversary Day and also Invasion Day.
