How much does the Canadian $100 22 karat gold proof coin worth?

My uncle wants to sell this Canadian $100 22 karat gold proof coin. But I don't know the market price. Please advice.

The current spot price of gold is about $1000US, so the coin should sell for slightly more than the value of the fractional ounces contained in the coin. In other words, if it is 1/2oz, it should sell for slightly more than $500US. If it is certified, it would sell for even a bit more than that.

Your best bet would be to take your coin to a local coin dealer. They will be able to tell you so much more by evaluation the condition of the coin. They will also know the amount minted and what it is going for in today's market.

Try posting pictures on this website (there are many coin experts here that can help you evaluate it - there also may be people willing to buy if you are trying to sell):

Value of a bag of $1 dollar Canadian coins?

I have a bag of 100 - $1 dollar Canadian coins. They are in mint condition, the bag has never been opened and still has the original seal on it from the mint. I am curious as the the value of this. Any help? It appears the year is between 1964 and 1968.

!968 would be worth less than 1964-1967 because it's the first year that silver content was reduced to zero. Before that, dollars were 80% silver. Bullion value alone for 100 silver coins is currently roughly $800. A sealed bag form the RCM would carry a premium. I would guess the bag is worth at least $1000. Check with a dealer specializing in Canadian coins. A bag of 1968 might be worth between $150 and $250.

I have a $100.00 dollar gold coin ...Silver Jubilee Queen Elizabeth 2nd ..What is its value in Canadian Dollar

If it's a Canadian $100 gold coin, the face value of it is $100 CDN if you choose to spend it.

What you're looking for is it's numismatic value, and that can vary based on the age, condition and rarity of the coin.

What year was the coin minted? Has the coin ever been used? Was there any mistakes when the coin was minted -- that is, was it double-struck (struck twice)? Does Her Majesty face the wrong way compared to the regular issue? etcetera.

Your best answers are not on the Web. A good coin dealer in your town can assay (figure out the value) of your coin and (probably) quote you a fair price.

But if the Web way's the only way for you, seek on Yahoo the following search terms

<year> 100 Canada gold coin Queen Elizabeth Silver Jubilee

and ye shall find.

Good luck, Cincypix.

    Obama Inauguration | Contemporary Photos

Can a non U.S. citizen to sign notes Obama inauguration?

I'm Australian and I want a ticket to the inauguration Obama. How can I get hold of them, legally or if not possible is there a black market for these tickets? Who do I talk? Mongolia you need to get a passport. Australia is multiculural the company in 2008.

Over there is no black market for tickets. Anyone claiming to have tickets to opening is a liar because: 1. Tickets are available from your state senators or congressional 2. Tickets are Free 3. No body knows if they'll even get tickets up to 1 week before the inauguration. Then each member Senator and receive a small number of tickets (such as 150 or SO) to be distributed on a first come, first served basis or by lottery. So if you're not a citizen and does not have an MP or Senator, so I do not think you can get tickets. Not to mention that each Senator / Congressman has received thousands of requests for tickets and they will give about 150. So anyone who claims to have tickets is a crook. Tickets are free, and nobody will even have until January 13 and must be effectively incorporated in Washington DC by the person who made the initial request. And then, after January 13, there will probably many people, "affirming" They got their tickets to members of Congress and picked them up and can not go and it will be virtually impossible to distinguish liars out of people who really have them. Not to mention you struggling to find a hotel, because every hotel in a 60-mile radius of DC is booked solid, and people are beginning to offer, in fact parts of their house for $ 1,000 a night.
