More specifically, How can I tell a 1951 canada arnprior dollar coin from a canada SWL dollar coin?
During 1950, a technical problem emanated during the 1950’s that was to plague the Royal Canadian Mint. At each end of the canoe on the Voyageur Dollar, are four shallow water lines. In the process of polishing the dies, parts of these lines tended to disappear. The result was that there were differences in the appearance of the coins from year to year. There were collectors that decided arbitrarily that a certain pattern of partial water lines at the right-hand end of the canoe should be collected separately and command a premium over dollars with perfect water lines or other partial lines configurations. The Arnprior type configurations tended to consist of 2 and ½ water lines at the right. Any trace of the bottom water line disqualified a coin from being considered an Arnprior type.

i have a 1995 canadian dollar coin and i want to know how much does it cost today in American money. thx
A Canadian dollar is worth $0.91US in exchange, but an uncirculated 1995 Canadian dollar might be worth a bit more than that to a collector.
My nephew wants to exchange the "toonie" or "twoonie" I gave him.

Gold “Panic Buying” Ends, Reducing Austrian Coin Sales by 80 ...
March 19 (Bloomberg) — Muenze Oesterreich AG, the Austrian mint that makes the best-selling gold coin in Europe and Japan, said sales have fallen 80 percent this year after buyers began to regain confidence in the global economy.
“We’re getting back to business as usual rather than the hectic, panic demand we’ve seen over the last couple of years,” Vienna-based Marketing Director Kerry Tattersall said late yesterday in an interview.
Sales of all gold coin types fell to 53,930 ounces in the first two months of 2010, compared with 267,091 ounces in the same period a year before, he said. Gold bar sales fell 74 percent to 69,636 ounces. Muenze Oesterreich minted a record 1.04 million ounces of gold coins in 2009, including 903,047 of its top-selling 1-ounce Philharmonic coins.
