Can you make a hole thru a nickel coin (Canadian toonie) with a nail?

It would be possible, but you would more than likely distort the coin. Drilling would be the better option.

Canadian toonie, not 1 bout 3 polar bears?
Toonie

ok, my Mom has a "Toonie" 2 dollar canadian coin , that has 3 polor bear on it instead of the usual 1 polar bear. Someone told us that the rare toonie with 3 polar bares are very valuable and are a collectors item..is this true?? and if so where can you find a website about it?
thanks

"Hi"....that is the Millennium edition, the coin value "2 DOLLARS" appears on the obverse instead of on the reverse side . And "yep" it features a Momma bear and her two cubs rather than a single larger one and was issued in 2000. It's only worth a..." twonie " ( my slang *lol* ) or $2.00 Canadian .

Note....Two special edition Toonies have been issued in the past. In 1999, the commemorative Toonie featured an Inuit drummer to celebrate the founding of
Nunavut. As part of the Millennium coin series in 2000, the Royal Canadian Mint produced a Toonie featuring a polar bear and cubs and the words
"KNOWLEDGE" in English and "LE SAVOIR" in French.

Over the past ten years, approximately half a billion Toonies have been produced by the Royal Canadian Mint.

Hope that helps ya and sorry ! *S* (Michael C...)

How much is a Canadian two-dollar bill worth as a collectors item?
Toonie

Now that Canadians use the $2.00 "Toonie" coin, what is the value of the paper two-dollar bill in Canada?

Would they still accept the bill? Well, it would obviously still be worth 2 dollars if anything at all. If it is in good conditions then save it for 100 years and it's bound to be valuable then.

  • Press Releases on Justmeans - Campbell Canada Responds to Child ...

Campbell Canada has joined the 2010 "Toonies for Tummies" program, an Ontario-wide effort to fight child hunger by raising money for children's school breakfast programs.

Through March 11, approximately 1,000 Ontario stores are displaying Toonies for Tummies shelf coupons, asking shoppers for a $2 donation at the cash register. The "toonie" is Canada's $2 coin. Its name is a play on the nickname of Canada's $1 coin, which is known as a "loonie" because it features an image of a loon.

Shoppers who make the donation receive a coupon booklet valued at $25, featuring offers from about 80 Consumer Packaged Goods companies, including Campbell Canada. Campbell Canada's coupon offers a $1 donation with the purchase of any two soup. Shoppers receive 50 cents in savings, while Campbell donates an additional 50 cents to the program. The coupon was also included in a special Toonies for Tummies magazine that was distributed to 1 million Ontario households.

    What is a toonie

When I was a little kid, Canada had paper one and two dollar bills (as well as the 5, 10, 20, 50, and up bills that we still have). In 1987, when I was... um... (quick mental math) 12 years old, the Canadian government decided they wanted our currency to be more unique (at least that's how I remember it - don't quote me on that) and they introduced our one dollar coin. We quickly nicknamed the coin (once we stopped belly-aching about how heavy they were to carry compared to the paper bills - Canadians love to complain) the Loonie because of there's a picture of a loon on it: And in 1996, once Canadians were used...
