Why can't a Canadian two dollar coin be spent in the U.S?

But a canadian penny can.

Usually Canadian pennies are mistaken for US ones, which is why people accept them in the US. Officially, they are not supposed to accept any foreign money.

Loonies and Toonies?, or dollar and two dollar coin. Canadians only please.?

Every once in a while, someone will question my request for change from a five or ten dollar bill in Loonies and/or Toonies. I really cannot figure out if they are being serious or facetious . I always refer to the dollar or two dollar coin as toonie/ toonies and loonie/ loonies, and really have a hard time believing that some Canadians might not know what I'm talking about, or that they actually might be calling it a dollar and two dollar coin. WHAT DO YOU CALL THEM.

OBVIOULY, PLEASE THIS QUESTION IS FOR CANADIANS.

Yes, a one dollar coin is refered to as a loonie because it has a loon on it, and a two dollar coin (only created about a decade ago) is a toonie, for obvious reasons

How much is a Canadian two-dollar bill worth as a collectors item?

Now that Canadians use the $2.00 "Toonie" coin, what is the value of the paper two-dollar bill in Canada?

Would they still accept the bill? Well, it would obviously still be worth 2 dollars if anything at all. If it is in good conditions then save it for 100 years and it's bound to be valuable then.

How much would A Two Pence 1987 Coin Be Worth In Canadian Dollars?

Hey, I recently received a 1987 Two Pence Coin. I was wondering how much that would cost in Canadian Dollars because If it's worth more than I think It is then I would like to know. I'm guessing 2 Pence 1987 Would cost Approximately A dollar. I'm just guessing. I really don't know much about coins. Thanks for your help.

You would be lucky to get $0.50CAD for it even if it is like new as there were 218,100,750 made that year, and it is not even 25 years old.

  • Two Dollar Tattoo Project : Fishing Fury

All artists participating will be expected to create unique works of tattoo art executed with only a single needle (as in single-needle configuration, No cheating using a round or a mag for any of the tattoo!). Line-work, shading, colour…all must be executed with the same needle! The size of the final product will be expected to fill the space of a “toonie”, a Canadian two-dollar coin (approximately 28mm or 1 1/8” in diameter). The artist should utilize all of the space within the circle since in this case its not just size that matters. The Two Dollar Tattoo Project is expected to be both a game of camaraderie as well as a professional courtesy for artists and industry people. The only monetary exchange for the tattoo is to be a shiny Canadian $2 coin, which can be used for sizing of the drawing and final stencil, and MUST be utilized as proof of compliance with the set parameters.
