Just trying to buy her a b-day gift and she needs a place to put them because all she has now is a shoe box. I don't collect coins or know anyone who does so I was hoping someone online could help me. Preferably someone who also collects so I can get something nice/authentic. Thank you
Check around and see if you can find a box with a glass front she can put them in and hang it on her wall.
My main coin folder.
I've got a TON of coins, some in the paper folders with the cellophane, some not, some slabbed, I've got a lot of silver and gold bullion.
Right now I made a folder with my collection divided into pennies, nickels, quarters, dimes, dollars.
But I've also got a TON of silver proof state quarters, etc., and it's all in a safe, but I'd like to organize some boxes better. Are there holders for slabbed coins? ANY ideas?
Yes, I got the mylar flaps for mine, not a "coin book" where you mash the penny into the too-small-hole to "display" it.
As a fellow numismatic, the best way to store any coin is in a chemical free "Mylar flip". This is a clear plastic that does not cause discoloring or imperfections to the coin.
Those coin books are not the best to store good coins in.
You can purchase blank slabs but you would have to buy different ones for each type of coins. The Mylar flips are available from many sources.

remember to wear cotton gloves while handling any coins, skin oil, will discolor and this will lower the grading value.
A few years ago I downloaded a freeware program for coin collecting. When loaded it strongly resembled a Whitman coin folder (except it was digital of course). All you had to do was double click on the circle above the coin's year & mint mark and a picture of that coin would appear. I have searched for hours trying to locate that program again but have had no success. Has anyone ever come across this program before? If so would you be so kind as to provide a link so that I may purchase and/or download it again? Thanks.
Here are some links to PC and Mac software. You give very few details, and I am a bit confused because you do not pay for freeware. I hope this helps.

Ok im canadian and collecting U.S.A. pennies, kinda dumb. I was on www.whitmanbooks.com, and i noticed something. There was a Lincoln Memorial Folder, and a just Lincoln Folder, my first guess was that the Lincoln Folder was wheat back pennies, but then i found out that both went to almost the same date (2002). Could someone please tell me the difference between these. :)
I did not go to their web site but it maybe they are changing style or trying to sell more folders. It used to be the 1909-1958 were two folders then the Lincoln Memorial started and went up from there. It does not matter what a folder says, but what is in them. Like Canada we have cents not pennies. Just get the ones you need and make sure the dates do not overlap. It is not dumb for a Canadian to collect U.S. coins, I send our state quarters to Canadian friends all the time. Even though I do not collect Canadian small cents I do like the early large ones as well as pre federation tokens. I have a nice collection of them from Prince Edward Island as well Nova Scotia and upper and lower Canada. So they may be redoing thigs due to the Anniversary of the Lincoln cent next year where there will be 4 different designs from both mints plus a proof as well as the original copper as it was in 1909. Hope this helps.
Without thinking twice i super glued my Australian 50 cent coin collection onto a collectors folder which is made of cardboard.
Now i want to remove these coins for a better folder, but will Acetone soak off the remaining super glue and stuck on cardboard from my coin? please help!
Thanks
also does anyone collect 50 cent coins? if so which ones are you missing? :)
Yes, acetone will do the job and won't damage your coins. As far as risks go it is flammable and volatile but not carcinogenic. It is dimethyl keytone. Be careful not to spill any. It removes paint immediately and it melts most plastics. You can clean your hands with it when you're finished
