A couple of days ago, a bought a 1923 Peace Dollar that is in very fine condition for $21. The problem is that I like putting my hands on things and playing around with them, and I am having a hard time resisting taking the coin out of its holder and flipping it around and carrying it around with me to show my friends. It is one of the more valuable coins that I have, but I don't think I would be willing to resell it.
Oh, by the way, I already took the coin out of its case and starting tossing it around and probably already took some its value. I put it back in after and stapled the holder back shut.
If you aren't going to resell it you want to keep it, then there is no point in puting it in its unless you just want to.

i have a twenty dollar coin that's golden and REALLY tiny how much do you think it's worth? It's in perfect condition and inside a small box with a little holder thing. It was my dads and it looks like he's had it for a long time i found it in his drawer after my mom kicked em out, but it looks like it's brand new but I know it must be really old, so I guess what I would like to know is, how old do you think it is and how much do you think it's worth?
It is most certainly a reproduction, and it would probably be worth $5US-$15US like any other reproduction. What is the diameter? Weight? Design? I recommend taking it to a local coin expert or two for an evaluation. I hope that helps.

I own an 1827 Half dollar. I need to know what price it range from. I think its in great condition A nice silver color a couple scratches just the normal signs of human handle. I kept it in a tight coin holder for years. What should I look for to determine the price???
There are 3 varieties of this coin. Two of the varieties retail for about the same money in average circulated condition (grade=Fine) which is $160.00. The third variety starts getting expensive even in this grade and retails for approx $300.00.
To get a better feel for the value take the coin to several dealers and ask them what they think it grades out at and how much they would pay for the coin. Remember he is going to offer you about 60% of retail since he is in the business to make a living and he does not control the retail price the collector market does.
A collector might offer a little more since he or she is not looking to resell the coin at a profit.
If you want to try to grade the coin yourself you could go to the library and see if they have a coin grading book you can use. It generally takes a lot of practice to get good at grading coins which is why I suggested taking it to a dealer.
Good luck.
I was told by someone that you need to use a "special" stapler for the Mylar 2x2 holders, is this true? I could use a regular stapler right?
And I was wondering if it's ok to use the dollar sized ones for smaller coins like dimes and pennies?
When one uses regular staples they do not lay flat and can mark up the 2X2 storage pages. Also if a cent one is put next to a dollar one in a box, a staple could rip the dollar mylar and scratch the dollar. The special stapler they talk about is just one that keeps the staple flat on the cardboard. They have been used in business for reports for a good long time for they are flat and do not have a bump where the staple is, so one can stack a lot of reports together without a bulge where the staples are. It is also wise to try and use a size holder that is close to the coin size. Dimes in a cent holder are okay as well as nickels in a quarter holder. They may move in the holder but that is not too common if handled right. A cent in a dollar holder is not good, the coin will move and cause friction wear.

20 dollar gold coins – A collectors item or investment gem | Stock ...
As I continue my journey into the world of gold coins as way y to invest in gold I will keep giving you information into the world of gold coins and in the post today I am going to tell you about the 20 dollar gold coins .
Beginning the year or 1838 to 1933 the US government issued the twenty dollar gold coins as the part of the currency however later they were withdrawn and the came into being the normal coins. In 1933 these were recalled and melted by the US mint however even today there are gold coins which have been persevered by the collectors and the coin holders. With the 20 dollar gold coins all long gone the demand for those which have not been melted remains high as they are now part of the rare coin collection for anyone.
