Coin Album Star Wars 30th Anniversary Collection Complete

What is the value of a coin collection from the Postal Commemorative Society uncirculated 1965-2006 in albums.

These are U. S. Uncirculated coin mint sets from 1965-2006. Each year is sealed and includes historic U. S. stamps and commemorative postmarks as well as major events from each year. all included in a Deluxe Collectors Album.

They are not U.S. mint sets put together by the mint but uncirculated sets put together by the a private contractor for the commemorative society. They unfortunately have little secondary market value. True coin collectors won't touch them nor will coin dealers. If a dealer does, they usually offer so little that it is insulting. the 1/2 dollars from 1965-1970 are at least 40% silverr. I would just hold onto them for now, the reason is, collectors now are just waking up to the fact that some of the early clad coins are not that easy to find in high grade. Some day, if your coins are free of bag marks, they may well pay off in the end. It won't be for a while. Most people have to lean the hard way, that coins from private mints and societies do not far well ,even if made of silver for all they are worth to a dealer is silver price, nothing more.

Where can I buy coin folders for standing liberty dimes, barber dimes, and peace dollars?

I have lots of Whitman coin folders for the rest of my collection, but I can't find any coin folders anywhere for the standing liberty dimes, barber dimes, and peace dollars. I could buy the blank dime and dollar folders, but I would have to write all over them to label the years and mint marks and I have messy writing. I found one on E-Bay for the standing liberty dimes, but have had a situation with paypal (someone trying to access my account), so I'm still skeptical about using E-bay. I would prefer (blue and labeled) Whitman coin folders so they'll match the rest of the folders, but I'll take anything. I've searched multiple websites...even coin sites and the US Mint site, but none of them have anything. Has anyone seen labeled standing liberty dime, barber dime, and peace dollar coin folders? (Coin FOLDERS, not albums - please).

The folders you list do exist and the best place to get them is at a coin show. The last coin show I went to, I got a box of old whitman folders and albums for free from a dealer who didn't want them. These are no longer in favor because the materials that they are made of tone coins if stored where it is even a bit damp. New albums from Littleton (which are really expensive) don't have this problem. The old albums are fine if your coins are in circulated condition, but not if they are EF, AU, or UNC. Incidentally, there are other old Whitman albums such as half dime albums that are not even listed, but they are rare.

Where can I get uncirculated versions of current US coins for about face value, excluding mint sets?

I am interested in uncirculated presidential dollars, the new nickels, and other new coins that are being released. I want to collect these in albums and I am not interested in buying mint sets and breaking them up. I also do not want to pay much more than face value, if possible.

Since 2005 the mint sets have not been made up of just uncirculated coins but coins with a special satin finish. To get the uncirculated coins made for general circulation you need to go to local banks and see what they have. In the end you may need to go to several banks to get all you want at face value. Remember if you live in the east your chances of getting coin rolls of Denver mint coins is slim to none and if you live in the west, getting Philly mint coins is the same. You can also check to see if a Federal Reserve bank is near you there re 12 through out the country in large cities such as Boston or San Francisco. Some do offer new coins direct to the average person. Hope this helps.

Rare mis-printed coin... how much is it worth?

It is a mis-struck coin from 1999 and from the D mint. (I think that is Deleware, right?) If you have any other questions, please let me know! Thanks!!

  • Zachary Taylor Presidential Dollar Coin Cover

Sales of the Presidential Dollar Coin Covers have shown a general decline since the first releases of 2007. That year, the US Mint sold a high of 50,000 for the George Washington cover and a low of 44,466 for the James Madison cover. For 2008, the high was 36,138 for the James Madison cover and the low was 25,476 for the Martin Van Buren cover.

Yes a decline is ever present for coins that are crap. I am disappointed that our gov't has been able to convince many that these are great collector coins. Thats whats called dumbing down society. The only good use for these coins are in circulation to replace the dollar bill. But the mint can't bring itself to discontinue that nasty germ laden piece of FRN so people would have to start using the presidential carnival coin. Vending machines would be better off too instead of patrons often having to obtain a pristine dollar bill to use in them. Still looking for pot at the end of the rainbow but I think the mint got there first and replaced it with a commode.
