Plastic Coin Case

I have a uncerkulated gold coin wich is sealed in a plastic
display case an in that case that case there is a little black
speck of something but it cant be removed becouse the case
is sealed an i wonder if this has been put there by the mint for
a purpose or what?

Does the speck look organic or does it look artifishiul???? if it looks liek print or somthing put there by the companie thin it should be fine! but you could have a scam in your hands too. that black dot could be from someone who has opened the case and resealed it!!! hmmmmmm idk

I would like to put my coin collection in an album but I am having a difficult time finding an album and album pages for my 2x2 hard plastic coin holders. Most of my coins are in these types of cases and I find they are better at protecting coins then the 2x2 cardboard holders.I have found several albums for 2x2 cardboard coin holders but nothing for hard plastic cases, such as the H.E. Harris plastic coin holders or the Whitman plastic holders

There are no albums that I know of for the hard plastic 2X2's made by harris or Whitman. There is a company called Eagle that has hard plastic cases and there own album. www.eaglecoinholders.com. Coin World the weekly coin magazine also has a hard plastic case and a special album. From them in order to get a discount you must get their magazine but they will sell to others but without a discount. www.coinworld.com or if a subscriber like I am I go to www.amosadvantage.com. Another place to try for there are new products all the time is www.brooklyngallery.com they are a large dealer in supplies for coins and stamps and have a huge inventory. Others to try are www.jpscorner.com they carry some of the coin world items. Hope this sets you on the right road.

Try WHSmiths or a main Post Office - they sell loads of coin and postcard collection holders. If they haven't got what you want they will be able to suggest somewhere else.

I have always wanted to own some gold, not just for an investment, but because it seems like a fun thing to have in a special place. I would love to be able to have access to touching them whenever I wanted without having to take them out of a plastic case that they are often shown in.

Can I keep them in a box together with other gold coins or will that hurt their value over time?

Gold is gold right? And isn't the value just worth the weight in which you can melt it to?

Gold is a very soft metal. So, if you're purchasing gold bullion coins or bars you will need to protect them. These will be slightly less valuable if they incur scratching or tarnishing. However, the gold content will remain virtually the same. Bullion pieces are valued more for mint pieces. Junk gold and junk silver will retain their value in weight no matter the scratching.

Throwing the gold bullion coins in a box loosely will cause scratching, they should be kept in sleeves designed to hold bullion coins. I would suggest purchasing a display kit to display a handful of the coins. Protect the others in sleeves. Mixing gold coins with other metals that tend to be harder incurs marking and scratching too.

I would suggest something like junk silver or junk gold, you get some interesting coins.
